Darius King throws top-10 mark, UNI track and field wins 15 events at Jim Duncan

DES MOINES, Iowa - UNI track and field won eight titles on the men's side and seven on the women's side at the Jim Duncan Invitational.
Darius King opened his outdoor shot put season with a throw that ranks sixth nationally among the current marks. It tops the Missouri Valley Conference and is just shy of his career best for outdoor (20.14). He threw 19.68 meters today to take first place.
In the 200-meter dash, Parker Kiewiet set a personal record with a time of 21.13 seconds, which is the second fastest time in the MVC, behind teammate Isaiah Trousil.
Connor Blough set a personal season record in the 400-meter dash that would move him from 10th to the top five in the MVC. Craig Becker set a career best in the 1,500-meter run to put him among the top 10 in the conference.
Drew Bartels' 100-meter dash time is currently the sixth best time in the conference, and he led off the winning 4x400 meter relay team.
Blair Brooks won both the long jump and triple jump.

On the women's side, Katie Nimrod set a season best in the 400-hurdles. She has the second fastest time in the MVC. She teamed up with Auriona Kimbrough, Erin Kerkhoff and Anna Winterrowd on the winning 4x400, a new season best for the team (3:51.69).
Malory Henze set a personal record to win discus with the sixth best throw in the conference.
The Panthers went 1-2-3 in the 5,000-meter run with Mia Rampton leading the pack.
Both hammer throw competitors set season bests and remain in the top-10 in the conference. Mari Shavers took second with a throw of 56.38 meters (196 feet, 11 inches), and Marin Ehler was fourth with a throw of 54 meters (177-2).
