Panther track & field: Lillie, Hill earn silver medals at FISU America Games

LIMA, Peru --- Track and field competition at the 2026 FISU America Games concluded at Estadio Atlético de la Videna in the Peruvian capital on Saturday afternoon with one current and one former Panther each picking up a silver medal for distance competition.
Colin Lillie, who will begin his fourth season with UNI cross country and track and field this coming school year, finished second in the men's 10,000 meters in a time of 31:03.38. Iowa State's Allen Bonnesen took home gold for the United States with a time of 30:35.08, while Daniel Vasquez Carlos of Ecuador finished in third for bronze (31:14.08).
Amelia Hill, who just this past spring wrapped up her collegiate career at Northern Iowa, also took silver in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:41.49. Peyton Steffen of Central College (Iowa) took home gold in the event in 10:27.10, with Stephanie Masinsoy finishing third in 11:10.55 for Columbia.
Lillie and Hill join former Panther swimmer and current UNI assistant coach Faith Larsen, who won two gold, one silver and one bronze medal at the FISU America Games last Saturday in Lima.
