
Panthers Win Seven Events in Iowa City

RESULTS
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa track and field program turned in another impressive day outdoors, as the Panthers took seven events to close out the Musco Twilight on Thursday afternoon.
Isaac Holtz (shot put), Cameron Cantrall (high jump) and Jacob Smith (400 hurdles) were victorious on the men's side, while Sarah Pate (hammer throw), Maddie Bell (400), Brette Correy (800) and McKayla Cole (3,000) won their respective events for the women.
In field action, the Panther men's best overall performance came in the shot put as Holtz (1st, 58-08.50) took the crown, while Keegan Tritle (2nd, 58-04.50), Darius King (3rd, 57-11.25) and Kyler Yodts (5th, 55-11.00) were not far behind to round out the top-5.
On the women's side, Pate led the way after taking the hammer throw (194-11) and placing fifth overall in the discus (145-11). Overall, UNI had three Panthers place in the top-5 for the hammer throw, with champion Pate joined by Maddy O'Brien (3rd, 187-06) and Anna Hoyman (5th, 184-11) in the top-5.
On the track, Isaiah Trousil posted a pair of top-5 finishes at the Musco Twilight in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, with the field losing out to former Panther Brandon Carnes in both races. The highlight of the afternoon came in the 400-meter hurdles as Smith (51.47) won the event, while Jojo Frost (51.91) finished runner-up to his Panther teammate.
The UNI women carried the day on the track, with three Panthers taking events in Iowa City in the 400, 800 and 3,000-meter races. Bell (56:12), Correy (2:08.97) and Cole (9:55.57) won their respective events to cap Thursday on a high note.
UP NEXT
The Panthers are scheduled to travel to Walnut, California for the Mt. Sac Relays on April 19-21, with the Tom Botts Invite on April 20-21 also on the horizon.
