
UNI Pushes West to California

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – After a successful pair of meets to open the 2017-18 outdoor season, the University of Northern Iowa track and field program heads west to Walnut, California on Thursday as the Panthers compete in the Mt. Sac Relays.
The three-day event is set for April 19-21 at El Camino College's Murdock Stadium. The Panthers will be joined by Iowa, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee and USC among others in California. Field action will begin at 11:00 a.m. CT on Thursday, with track events starting at 10:30 a.m. CT.
Brette Correy and Tiffany Christensen will compete for the Panther women, while Jojo Frost, Evan Long, Jordan Pingel, Jacob Smith and Sven Van Den Bergh will represent the men's side in California.

LAST TIME OUT
UNI won seven events last week at the Musco Twilight in Iowa City, as the Panthers continued their successful outdoor season. Isaac Holtz (shot put), Cameron Cantrall (high jump) and Jacob Smith (400-hurdle) won for the men, while Sarah Pate (hammer throw), Maddie Bell (400), Brette Correy (800) and McKayla Cole (3,000) won on the women's side.
UP NEXT
A select group of Panthers will head south on Friday, as UNI also competes at the Tom Botts Invite in Columbia, Missouri on April 20-21. Friday the field events start at 4:30 p.m. CT with the track events starting at 7:00 p.m. CT.
