CEDAR FALLS, Iowa--The University of Northern Iowa swam to victory over the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits, 205-94.

Moriah Ross, Katie Taylor, Crystal Florman and Molly Lembezeder grabbed a first place finish in the 200 medley relay, timing in at one minute, forty-six seconds and forty-nine hundredths of a second. Â Lembezeder and Florman would team up with Aftin Phyfe and Autumn Roepsch for a first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.

Rachel Siebenaller, Maya Appleton, and Phyfe took 1-2-3 in the 200 freestyle. Siebenaller led with a time of 1:56.40, Appleton followed at 1:58.45, and Phyfe rounded the group out at 1:58.83.

Ross led the Panthers in the 100 breaststroke, timing in at 1:05.59 for first place. Roepsch and Veronica Herrmann grabbed second and third places, with times of 1:07.22 and 1:07.47 respectively.

Lembezeder would grab two individual first place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyles. Lembezeder had times of 24.39 and 52.55.

Kylie Engstrom nabbed first place in the 1000 freestyle, timing in at 10:47.25. Engstrom would take third in the 500 freestyle, nabbing a time of 5:16.49.

Katie Taylor continued her dominance in the pool, taking first place in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.22. Sophomore Madison Rinaldi grabbed second place, timing in at 1:00.49

Taylor would grab first place in the 200 backstroke, timing in at 2:03.37. Taylor's time was two seconds off the school record. Phyfe would nab second place, with a time of 2:12.17.

Taylor would grab another first place finish in the 200 IM, timing in at 2:08.96. Madison Rinaldi would follow in third place with a time of 2:06.53.

Ross grabbed the first place spot in the 200 breaststroke, timing in at 2:24.92. Herrmann swam into second place with a time of 2:27.23.

Freshman Jordan McCullough would grab second place in the 500 and 1000 freestyles. McCullough timed in at 5:16.45 in the 500 freestyle and 11:00.17 in the 1000 freestyle.

Florman swam into second place with a time of 53.39 in the 100 freestyle.

Kelsey Ostrowski took second place in the 200 butterfly, timing in at 2:12.13. Stephanie Jackson followed in third, swimming a 2:12.74.

Ropesch grabbed third place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.23.

"We are making steps in the right direction," commented head coach Doug Humphrey after the meet.

Diving

Sophomore Alyssa Deuso took first place in the 1-meter diving, scoring 218.92. With that score, Deuso tied her personal best for the Panthers. Hannah Brummel took third and Emma Billerbeck took fourth, with dives of 203.39 and 190.50.

Brummel would take second in the 3-meter diving, with a dive score of 215.16. Billerbeck nabbed third place with a score of 203.63 and Deuso rounded the Panther divers out with a dive score of 201.52.

The UNI Swimming team will travel to the Big Challenge, hosted by the University of Kansas, Nov. 18-20. The Diving squad will head to the TYR Invite, hosted by Northwestern University, Nov. 18-20.
