UNI track and field posts career bests to top MVC performance list

WICHITA, Kan. - UNI track and field posted marks at the KT Woodman Classic that currently top the Missouri Valley performance list.
Isaiah Trousil shattered his career best in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.25 seconds. His previous best of 10.48 seconds, which he ran at the first outdoor meet of the 2022 season, was the best time in the conference.
Trousil's time of 20.73 seconds in the 200-meter dash was just shy of his career best of 20.72. Today's finish is the best among current times in the MVC.
Tom Yezek threw a career best in the discus to win the KT Woodman Classic and to top Darius King, who had held the league's No. 1 spot. Yezek threw 56.11 meters (184 feet, 1 inch).
In long jump, Blair Brooks remains second in the MVC, but he improved his mark with a career best of 7.39 meters (24 feet, 3 inches), winning the KT Woodman Classic.
Three Panthers posted top-10 MVC times in the 110-meter hurdles. Jack Sumners ran a career best of 14.42 seconds to move up from third to second in the league. Drew Bartels' time of 14.50 puts him third in the MVC, and Carter Morton ran a 14.91, which is currently seventh in the MVC.
Bill Mukhtar ran a career best of 55.46 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles. He remained in sixth on the MVC leader chart.
On the women's side, Katie Nimrod also improved her 400-meter hurdle time. She ran a season best of 1:03.18 and had the second fastest time heading into this weekend's meet.
Marin Ehler was the lone champion on the women's side. Her shot put toss of 14.69 meters (48 feet, 2.50 inches) is the fifth longest throw in the MVC this season.
Mia Rampton took second in the 3,000-meter steeple, which was also the second fastest time in the MVC.
In high jump, Rylie Todd improved her mark to move up one spot in the MVC with a jump of 1.63 meters (5 feet, 4.25 inches).
Malory Henze threw a career best of 44.58 meters (146 feet, 3 inches) in the discus, which puts her eighth in the MVC.
