CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI will send 12 athletes onto the course for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship on Friday in Columbia, Mo., marking the second trip to the Gans Creek Cross Country Course this year for the Panthers.
Hosted by the University of Missouri, the women's 6K will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at 12 p.m. This will be the first time the UNI men have run a 10K race in competition this year.
The Panthers return to action for the first time since the MVC Championships two weeks ago in Terre Haute, Ind., where UNI took 7th in the women's competitions, and the men finished 9th.
Emma Hoins and Kate Crawford both finished in the top-30 at the MVC Championships with Hoins posting a time of 22:19 for a 21st place finish, while Crawford took 26th running a 22:29. Mia Rampton and Paige Holub finished back-to-back as teammates, placing 41st (23:04) and 42nd (23:04) for the Panthers.
Brady Griebel came in 40th place running a time of 25:45 on the men's side to lead UNI. Caleb Shumaker finished in 46th place with a time of 25:53, while Jayden Dickson ran a 26:21(54th place) for the Panthers.
