CEDAR FALLS, Iowa--The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team was in action tonight as they hosted the University of South Dakota Coyotes. The Panthers defeated the Coyotes, 203-96.

The 400 Medley team grabbed the first victory for the Panthers, timing in at three minutes, fifty-three seconds and 94 hundredths of a second. The team consisted of Katie Taylor, Moriah Ross, Crystal Florman and Molly Lembezeder. Florman and Lembezeder would team up with Rachel Siebenaller and Autumn Roepsch to win the 400 free relay, timing in at 3:34.86.

Lembezeder grabbed individual honors as well tonight with a first place finish in the 200 freestyle, timing in at 1:54.11. Lembezeder also grabbed the first place spot in the 100 freestyle, timing in at 52.48.

Senior Stephanie Jackson nabbed first place in the 200 butterfly, timing in at 2:12.17. Kelsey Ostrowski followed in at second with a time of 2:13.16.

The Panthers took 1-2-3 in the 100 breaststroke. Ross led the Panthers with a time of 1:06.86. Veronica Herrmann and Roepsch would follow, timing in at 1:07.26 and 1:08.29, respectively.

The Panthers would also take first and second in the 200 breaststroke. Ross and Herrmann competed for times of 2.26.38 and 2.26.59, respectively.

Freshmen Kylie Engstrom and Jordan McCullough took first and third place in the 1000 freestyle. Engstrom timed in at 10:44.10 for first and McCullough followed at third, timing in at 10:55.25.

Taylor grabbed another first place finish in the 100 backstroke, timing in at 57.17. Madison Rinaldi followed in second at 59.80.

Taylor would add more first places to her plate tonight, grabbing them in the 200 backstroke and 200 IM. Taylor grabbed a time of 2:03.82 in the 200 backstroke and a 2:08.49 in the 200 IM.

Florman swam into first place in the 50 freestyle, timing in at 24.26. Florman would edge out South Dakota's Hannah Gupton in the 100 butterfly, timing in at 58.92.

Siebenaller edged out fellow Panther's swimmer, McCullough, to win the 500 freestyle, Siebenaller timed in at 5:14.96 with McCullough following at 5:15.46.

Diving

Alyssa Deuso led the Panthers in the 1-meter diving with a score of 199.26. Hannah Brummel and Emma Billerbeck would follow with scores of 190.27 and 189.66, respectively.

In 3-meter diving action, Brummel led the Panthers into third place with a dive score of 225.22. Billerbeck would follow at 221.02 and Deuso rounded out the group with a score of 207.90.

The Panthers return to action, Friday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. hosting the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits.
