MACOMB, Ill. --- The UNI tennis team returned to the road on Friday afternoon, falling to the Western Illinois Leathernecks by a score of 6-1 at the WIU Tennis Facility in non-conference dual action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Darta Dalecka and Lorena Cardoso would grab the Panthers' lone win in doubles, defeating the Leatherneck duo of Nour Gueblaoui and Chloe Routier in a 7-6 victory. Kim Zizek and Andjela Raznatovic pushed Paige Grice and Mana Fawcett in a 7-5 loss, while Kanyanut Sudsaard and Lasya Mylavarapu fell to Lara Rossetto Diniz De Souza and Anna Trush, 6-2.

In singles, Mylavarapu put the Panthers in the win column with a straight sets win over Trush, 6-3, 6-1, while Zizek, Raznatovic and Sudsaard all dropped their individual singles matches by identical 6-3, 6-0 scores. Cardoso won the first set in her singles match against Rossetto Diniz De Souza, but fell in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 6-7), as Dalecka fell to Routier, 6-3, 6-2.

UP NEXT
UNI returns to action next Saturday as it takes on Montana State at 11:30 a.m. CT at the Choice Health & Fitness Center in Grand Forks, N.D. The Panthers will also take on the North Dakota Fighting Hawks on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 9 a.m. CT.
