UNI cross country has two top-30 finishers at MVC Championship

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — It was an early morning for UNI country country as the Panthers competed at the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.

The UNI women finished 7th place out of 12 teams competing with 165 points, while the men recorded 9th place out of 11 teams with 251 points.

UNI notched two top-30 finishers with Emma Hoins crossing the finish line first for the Panthers with a time of 22:19 in 21st place, while Kate Crawford ran a time of 22:29 finishing in 26th place. Crawford shaved 12 whole seconds off her last run at the MVC Championships last year where she placed 26th. Mia Rampton finished in a time of 23:04 in 41st place, as her teammate Paige Holub finished right after her with a time of 23:04.8 in 42nd place.

On the men's side, Brady Griebel led the Panther pack of 8 runners competing with a time of 25:45, finishing in 40th place. Gribel recorded a huge improvement from last year's run at the MVC Championships where he finished in 51st place in a time of 26:40. Finishing in 46th place, Caleb Shumaker ran a time of 25:53, while Jayden Dickson ran a 26:21 in 54th place for the Panthers.

UP NEXT:
The Panthers head to Columbia, Missouri for the second time this year for the NCAA Regional meet at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course on Nov. 11.
