UNI Set To Host Loras And Iowa Central

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team looks to continue action at home this week.
On Friday, Nov. 6, the Panther women play host to the Loras College Duhawks and the Iowa Central Tritons at 5 p.m. in the Glen F. Henry Pool. The Panthers start the season 2-3, with wins over South Dakota and South Dakota State. The losses fall at the hands of Big 10 rivals Iowa, Michigan State and Nebraska.
The Duhawks come into Cedar Falls with a 2-2 record. The Tritons look to open up their season on Friday. The Iowa Central and Loras College men's swimming teams will also compete on Friday night.
UNI hopes to inch closer to the records boards when action starts at 5 p.m. Admission is free to the meet.
LAST TIME IN ACTION:
Strong performances against Nebraska included Molly Lembezeder, who leads the conference in the 50 and 100 freestyle races, Rachel Siebenaller, Madison Rinaldi and Allie Bey. Lembezeder was the sole winner for UNI, taking home first place in the 50 freestyle and second place in the 100 freestyle. Lembezeder swam a 24.12 in the 50 freestyle and a 52.02 in the 100 freestyle, both just seconds short of her records.
Rachel Siebenaller kept consistent with performances already this season, getting into the second place spot in the 1,000 freestyle, 500 freestyle and anchoring the Panther team of Lembezeder, Crystal Florman and Autumn Roepsch in the 200 freestyle relay. The relay swam a time of 1:37.07, just a second short of Nebraska's team. Siebenaller swam a time of 5:14.17 in the 500 freestyle and a time of 10:37.48 in the 1,000 freestyle.
Madison Rinaldi is giving fans a taste of what is to come in the future. Rinaldi swam a 2:09.02 in the 200 Backstroke, sliding into second place. Rinaldi also led the Panther team of Veronica Herrmann, Taylor Ostrowski and Roepsch into third place in the 200 medley relay. The group swam a time of 1:49.21, just shy of second place.
Bey took second place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives with scores of 259.27 and 248.55 respectively.
