CEDAR FALL, Iowa --- The UNI swimming and diving team will return to the pool for a jam packed, four-day meet beginning Tuesday night at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City.
Competition is scheduled to begin on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at the Campus Recreation-Wellness Center, followed by 10 a.m. CT prelims and 5 p.m. CT finals on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday's prelims at 10 a.m. CT will be followed by finals at 4 p.m. CT.
The four-day meet will feature a talented selection of Division I talent, including athletes competing from Iowa, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Miami (FL), Nebraska and Washington State.Â

Northern Iowa last competed at the Coyote Extravaganza to close out October, winning the team title over South Dakota State, South Dakota, St. Cloud State and Augustana (S.D.) with 14 event wins over the two-day event. The 400-yard medley relay team of Elyse Brayton, Neriah Giedrys, Hannah Nedder and Morgan Meyer took first with a time of 3:52.68, while Charlotte Sander, Abby Lear and Meyer swept the podium in the 50-yard freestyle with times of (23.94), (24.04), and (24.05).Â
Sam Oeltjen took the top prize in the 400-yard individual medley with a winning time of 4:38.59 as Meyer dominated the 100-yard freestyle, taking first place at 51.96. Brayton notched first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.29 while Abigail Barkhurst swam a time of 5:10.99 in the 500-yard freestyle to take first in the event.Â
The 200-yard freestyle relay action saw the squad of Sander, Lear, Morgan Raether and Meyer claim first with a winning time of 1:34.98, as the 200-yard medley relay team of Brayton, Giedrys, Nedder and Lear took first place at 1:47.93. Meyer saw success again in the 200-yard freestyle as she topped the podium with a time of 1:54.48.Â
Sander took first again the 50-yard freestyle for a second straight day with a time of 23.88, shaving off six hundredths of a second from her previous time. Meyer continued to show her speed as she topped the podium in the 100-yard freestyle in 52.65, while the relay team of Meyer, Lear, Raether and Averie Bilskemper took first in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:33.30.Â
In the diving portion of the competition, the trio of Avery Hogan, Erica Peters, and Trista Thompson swept the podium in the three-meter boards with scores of (247.40), (246.80), and (238.50). The one-meter boards saw Thompson claim top prize with a score of 257.85, followed by Peters in second (252.85) and Hogan in fourth (245.00) respectively.Â
