UNI men’s golf stays in-state for Zach Johnson Invitational starting Monday

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI men's golf team continues its fall season with its third competition of the month at the Zach Johnson Invitational in West Des Moines starting on Monday morning.
The Panthers will begin with a 36-hole shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.CT to open the tournament at the Glen Oaks Country Club, followed by an 18-hole round beginning at 9.a.m on Tuesday morning. Tee times have yet to be announced.
Hosted by Drake on the 6,950-yard, par-71 course, the Panthers will compete against 13 teams including Murray State, North Dakota, Houston Christian, Drake, Loyola-Chicago, Indian Hills Community College, Western Illinois, Green Bay, Bradley, Iowa State, South Dakota and St. Thomas.
Last season, UNI placed tenth out of 13 teams totaling 888, with Jack Moody coming in at 31st place overall with a final score of 221 (72-70-79). Iowa State took home the team title at Glen Oaks last season finishing ahead of North Dakota State with a final score of 828 (-23).
JD Pollard led Northern Iowa in its previous tournament at the Wildcat Invitational in Kansas, tying for eighth-place after shooting a total of 217. Junior Calen Bishop finished in a three-way tie for 22nd with a score of 223, while Tanner Dinnebier tied for 37th with a 227.
