UNI Men’s Golf Wraps Up Fall Season with Top-Three Finish

OZARK, Missouri --- The UNI men's golf team closed out its fall season in strong fashion, earning a third-place finish at the Missouri State Intercollegiate in Ozark, Missouri. Two Panthers placed inside the top five, while three finished among the top 25 in a competitive six-team field. Lindenwood captured the team title with a score of 857 (+5), and their own Francisco Gavilan took home the individual title, shooting a score of 205 (-8).
The Panther men shot a team score of 860 (+8) and were led by Senior Calen Bishop, who carded a 210 (-3) to place in his first top five finish as a Panther with a fourth-place finish. Bishop tied his best low round score with a 69 (-2) in rounds one and two, and shot a 72 (+1) in round three. Bishop sank 12 birdies with five coming in round one and five bogeys to finish out the two-day tournament. Tanner Dinnebier finished right behind Bishop in fifth place, marking his best finish of his Panther Career with a score of 211 (-2). Dinnebier shot 69 (-2) in round one, making it his best low round score of the season, while shooting 71 (E) in rounds two and three. Dinnerbier carded 12 birdies and six bogeys.
Freshman Anthony Galvin finished in a four-way tie for 17th place, shooting a 221 (+8). Galvin shot a 74 (+3) in rounds one and two, while recording his best low round score of his early Panther Career with a 73 (+2) in round three. Galvin collected ten birdies with four coming in the third round and ten bogeys. Nile Petersen placed in a four-way tie for 21st place, shooting 222 (+9). Petersen sank an eagle in round two on hole two and shot consistently in all three rounds with 75-72-75, while collecting seven birdies.
Cooper Hanson finished in a four-way tie for 25th place with a score of 225 (+12). Hanson finished strong, shooting 71 (E) in round three, marking his best low round score of the season. Hanson sank an eagle on hole two in round one and carded ten birdies over the two-day tournament, with six in round three. Freshman Anthony Lore placed in a tie for 35th, shooting 230 (+17), competing as an individual. Lore carded an eagle in round one on hole two and hit his new best low round score of his career with a 72 (+1) in round one. Lore carded seven birdies in all three rounds to round out the fall season for the men's team.
