
Panther men’s golf wins Stampede At The Creek team title

UNI women also close out regular season with fourth place finish ahead of next week’s MVC Championships.
OMAHA, Neb. --- UNI men's golf ended the 2023-24 regular season with a bang, capturing the Stampede At The Creek team title on Tuesday at the Indian Creek Golf Course.
Led by a stellar performance by Griffin Parker and four top-20 individual finishes on the leaderboard, the Panther men led from start to finish in the team race, holding off second place and host Omaha by seven strokes to capture the program's first tournament title since winning the Zach Johnson Invitational in 2015.
Victoria Hualde paced the UNI women to a fourth place finish in the women's edition of the Stampede At The Creek with three Panthers finishing in the top-ten. North Dakota State clinched the women's team title, followed by St. Thomas and South Dakota State, as UNI edged South Dakota out for fourth place by three strokes.
Recording one of his best tournament's in recent memory, Parker sank 12 birdies over the course of the three-round, two-day competition with a pair of eagles to finish in a three-way tie for second place individually, one stroke off individual champion Davis Johsnon (Nebraska). Parker's tournament was highlighted by a season-best score of 67 (-5) in Monday's opening round.
Brock Seiser tied for ninth place with a final score of 221 (+5), while Connor Van Weelden shot a season-best 67 (-5) with seven total birdies in the final round alone to tie for 11th. Tanner Dinnebier tied for 16th after shooting a 73 (+1) in his final round to finish with 224 (+8), while JD Pollard tied for 25th carding a of 227 (+11). Nile Petersen rounded out the Panther men's lineup in a tie for 33rd place with a 231 (+15).
Hualde finished her final tournament of the regular season with a season-best round of 72 (E) in Monday's opening round, finishing with eight total birdies during the tournament for a 222 (+6) and fourth place tie. Anna Jensen took home seventh place with a 226 (+10), as Addison Berg tied for 26th with 234 (+18). Anna Nacos tied for 36th place and a 238 (+22), with McKenna Mallow tying for 42nd place with a 241 (+25) and Allison Nuss shooting a 245 (+28) to tie for 55th.

The Panther women will return to action as they play host to the MVC Women's Golf Championships beginning Sunday, April 14 at the Annbriar Golf Club in Waterloo, Illinois. The UNI men will compete at its edition of the MVC Championships, April 21-23 at The Club at Porto Cima in Lake Ozarks, Missouri.
