Panther women's golf takes sixth in shortened Big O Classic

FINAL RESULTS

OMAHA, Neb. — UNI women's golf placed sixth at the Big O Classic after a shortened two-round tournament on Tuesday afternoon in eastern Nebraska.

Originally scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament hosted by Creighton, the event was shortened to just 36 holes on Tuesday after a lengthy rain and lightning delay during the third and final round.

The Panthers tallied a total team score of 631 as St. Thomas (Minn.) won the team title with a total score of 599. St. Thomas' Niki Reineke walked away with the individual title after shooting a 147 (+1).

Anna Jensen led UNI as she tied for 15th place shooting a 76 (+3) in the first round and sinking five total birdies in the tournament. Anna Nacos and McKenna Mallow both tied for 26th place after carding identical scorecards of 76 (+3) in the first round and 82 (+9) in the second round. Mallow's first round score marked a season-best for the Panther sophomore.

Allison Nuss finished in a tie for 42nd place with a 161 (+15), while Addison Berg, playing as an individual separate from UNI's five-person team, tied for 48th after shooting a 78 (+5) in Tuesday morning's second round, matching a season-best score. Victoria Hualde rounded out the Panther lineup in a tie for 51st place, scoring a 165 (+19) and an 80 (+7) in the second round of play.

UP NEXT
The Panthers will head to Bartonville, Illinois beginning Saturday morning for three rounds at the Bradley Coyote Classic, played at the Coyote Creek Golf Club.
