UNI Women’s Golf Closes Fall Season with Fourth-Place Finish at the Big O Classic

OMAHA, Nebraska --- The Panthers wrapped up their 2025 fall season with a fourth-place finish out of nine teams, with three Panthers earning top-20 finishes at the Big O Classic, hosted by the University of Nebraska Omaha at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, Nebraska. Omaha captured the team title with a score of 879 (+15), and their own Katie Ruge took home the individual title, shooting a score of 213 (-3).
The UNI women shot a team score of 955 (+91) and were led by Freshman Jane Petersen, who carded a 235 (+19) to finish in a three-way tie for her career best 13th place. Petersen shot consistently over the three rounds with 79-79-77 and sank seven birdies over the two-day tournament. Addison Berg finished in 19th place, shooting a 237 (+21) and hit her best round score of the tournament in round one with a 76 (+4). Berg tallied seven birdies and 16 birdies in the Big O Classic.
Isabella Pettersen placed in a tie for her career best 20th place with a score of 239 (+23), shooting 79-77-83 in three rounds. Pettersen carded four birdies and 17 bogeys. McKenna Mallow finished in a three-way tie for 26th place, finishing strong with her best round score coming in round three with an 80 (+8). Mallow sank two birdies, with one coming in round one and the other in round two.
Lauren Nuss placed in a three-way tie for 47th, shooting 265 (+49) as an individual. Nuss shot 86-92-87 in her second career tournament with the Panthers. Nuss carded three birdies to finish the tournament. Greenlee Smock finished in 50th place with a 267 (+51), shooting 88 (+16) in both rounds two and three. Smock sank an eagle on hole 13 in round 1 and carded four birdies to finish out the Panthers' fall season.
