Panthers finish in 6th place after Monday's final round

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa --- UNI men's golf carded three eagles, including two in Tuesday's third round at the Zach Johnson Invitational at the Glen Oaks Country Club.

After sitting in 8th place after the first two rounds on Monday, UNI shot a collective score of 288 (+4) to end the tournament in 6th place in the 14 team field. North Dakota State clinched the team title after recording a score of 840 (-12), with Iowa State close behind in 2nd with a 842 (-10). Valparaiso's Anthony Delisanti claimed the individual title shooting a 202 (-7).

ROUND 3
Storbeck finished the tournament in a tie for 12th place after shooting 70 (-1) on Tuesday with a total score of 215 (+2), highlighted by an eagle on the 9th hole. Griffin Parker also closed out the front nine with an eagle on the 9th hole as he finished the final round with a score of 70 (-1), and a total score of 219 (+6). Storbeck and Parker join sophomore JD Pollard, who also sank a 9th hole eagle during the second round of competition on Monday.

Pollard notched birdies on three holes to shoot a 73 (+2) on Tuesday, tying for 36th place, as Tommy Doyle also recorded a 73 (+2) in the final round with a pair of birdies on the back nine. Jack Moody rounded out the UNI field with an 87 (+16), carding par on 7 holes on Tuesday.

Conner VanWheelden, who competed as an individual, carded a 74 (+3) in the third round, notching birdies on three holes and par on nine holes to tie for 50th place.

ROUNDS 1-2
Thomas Storbeck led the Panthers after carding 7 birdies in the first two rounds. Storbeck shot a 75 (+4) in the first round Monday morning before shooting 70 (-1) in the afternoon round to sit in 15th place on the leaderboard. Griffin Parker shot even par at 72 (+1) in the first round and a 75 (+4) in the afternoon for a total score of 147 (+5), putting the senior in 18th place.

In addition to his second round eagle, Pollard recorded a pair of birdies on Monday for a total of 153 (+11), with round scores of 82 (+11) and 71 (E) to sit in 44th place. Tommy Doyle was tied for 65th along with teammate Jack Moody, who both shot 158 (+16). Doyle recorded scores of 80 (+9) and 78 (+7), while Moody shot 82 (+11) and 76 (+5) on Monday.

Junior Connor VanWheelden tied for 59th place after Monday's action competing as an individual with a score of 156 (+14), after recording a first round score of 79 (+8), and a second round total of 77 (+6).
