UNI men’s golf ready to tee it up at TPC Deere Run for the WIU Intercollegiate

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI men's golf heads to Silvis, Illinois, this weekend to compete in the WIU Intercollegiate at TPC Deere Run. The par-71 course, home of the PGA TOUR's John Deere Classic, marks another stop as the Panthers continue their spring season.
Hosted by Western Illinois on the 7,281-yard, par 71-course, the Panthers will compete against a seven-team field, including Chicago State, Northeast Community College, Indian Hills Community College, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Kansas, Western Illinois, and St. Ambrose University. Tee Times has yet to be announced.
Last season at the WIU Intercollegiate, UNI placed fourth out of nine teams, with Nile Petersen coming in tied for second place with a final score of 217 (+4). Indian Hills Community College took home the team title at TPC Deere Run last season, finishing in front of Western Illinois with a score of 880 (+28).
Calen Bishop led the Panther men in their previous tournament at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nevada, tying for 19th place with a score of 216 (E). Tanner Dinnebier, who shot a 220 (+4), tied for 28th. Freshman Davis Tripp competed as an individual and finished tied for 36th place. Anthony Galvin, after setting a personal best 72 (E) in round two, tied for 50th place and carded a 225 (+9). Also competing as an individual, Drew Spooner tied for 58th place with a total score of 232 (+16). Rounding out the tournament for the Panthers, Copper Hanson finished in a tie for 62nd place after shooting a score of 235 (+19).
