Panthers Host Jack Jennett, Mark Messersmith

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa. – After a week on the road, the University of Northern Iowa track and field program hosts two meets this the weekend, with the Panthers welcoming teams for the Jack Jennett Open and the Mark Messersmith Invitational.

The Jack Jennett will take place on Thursday, with events wrapping up on Friday night. The Mark Messersmith is a one-day meet, slated for Saturday.

Friday's Jack Jennett will open with a heptathlon starting at 11:00 a.m. and lasting until the early afternoon. Action will restart on Friday at 10:00 a.m., while field action is set to begin at 11:15 a.m. and track events will commence at 2:35 p.m.

Saturday's Mark Messersmith will kick off things with field events starting at 10:00 a.m., while track action will begin at 12:30 p.m. and wrap up late that afternoon.

Notable teams joining UNI at the Mark Messersmith on Saturday are: Drake, Indiana State, Loyola, South Dakota State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Last time out, UNI finished in the Top-5 in 10 events at the Jim Emmerich Invite as a program, with the men earning six and the women collecting four last Saturday.
