
Panthers Wrap Up Successful Trip

Brookings, South Dakota—The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team wrapped up a two-day trek to South Dakota today, competing against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. The Panthers squeezed past the Jackrabbits to win today's meet 151-149, taking first place in eight events. Multiple records were shattered as the girls dove into the pool tonight.
    Molly Lembezeder continued to reach for her records in the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Freestyle. Lembezeder swam a 24.06 in the 50 Freestyle, which got her tied for fifth place on UNI's All-Time record list. Lembezeder shares the spot with Mikayla Freese, who swam that time in 2014. Lembezeder also hopped to third place in the record books in the 100 Freestyle, where she was just a second shy of her record, with a time of 52.31.
    Stephanie Jackson took home a first place finish in the 1000 Freestyle, with a time of 10:52.71, which put her in the eighth place spot on the record list. Jackson swam into third place in the 200 Butterfly, with a time of 2:12.25. Jackson moves into the eighth place spot on the UNI All-Time list with that time. Â
    Rachel Siebenaller also continued to swim towards the record boards, taking home first place finishes in the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle. Siebenaller swam to   seventh place on the records boards in the 200 Freestyle, with a time of 1:55. Siebenaller swam into tenth place on the record board in the 500 Freestyle, with a time of 5:11.76.
    Aftin Phyfe, a junior, took home first place in the 200 Backstroke, with a time of 2:09.21. Phyfe's time earned her a spot on the top-10 list for the 200 Backstroke, coming in sixth. Phyfe was also part of a relay that took first place in the 400 Freestyle relay. Competing alongside Phyfe was Lembezeder, Crystal Florman and Siebenaller. The group swam a time of 3:32.13, moving into the fourth place spot on the UNI All-Time list.
    Senior Allie Bey took home the first place spot in the 3-meter dive, with a score of 250.65. Bey also took the second place spot in the 1-meter dive, with a score of 237.60.
    "Stephanie Jackson took home first place in the 1000 and then a couple events later, took home a third place finish in the 200 Butterfly. That is not easy," said UNI head coach Doug Humphrey. "The meet overall was phenomenal."
The Panther squad returns to the Glen F. Henry Pool on UNI's campus on Oct. 30, playing host to Nebraska at 4 p.m.
