
UNI swim & dive: Peters, Larsen named 2025 CSCAA Scholar All-Americans

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI diver Erica Peters and former swimmer Faith Larsen have been named Second Team Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of American (CSCAA).
Honoring over 2,700 swimmers and divers from the 2024-25 season, the CSCAA recognizes student-athletes' accomplishments both in the pool and in the classroom.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must record a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and participate in their national championship meet. Second-Team selections, must have also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.
Peters, a rising senior from Ankeny, Iowa, earns her first national academic honor after another strong season on the springboards for the Panthers, finishing sixth at the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championship in three-meter competition (256.60) and tenth in one-meter action (251.50) . She also represented UNI at the NCAA Diving Zones in Iowa City.Â
A statistics major, Peters, who picked up one-meter competition wins at both the Huskies (Coyotes) Invite and in a road dual against Iowa State, was named the MVC Diver of the Week on Feb. 5, and also earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District and MVC Scholar-Athlete Team honors, while also being named UNI's winter recipient of the MVC State Farm Good Neighbor Award this past season.
Larsen, an Eden Prairie, Minnesota native, earns her second CSCAA Scholar All-American nod after an impressive senior season with the Panthers. The All-MVC First Team sprinter, Larsen earned her third consecutive conference title in the 50-yard freestyle in February while also winning the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle relay at the MVC Championships, along with a third-place effort in the 400-yard freestyle relay, a sixth-place showing in the 200-yard medley relay, seventh-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay and a 12th place performance in the 100-yard butterfly.
Academically, Larsen, who graduated from UNI with a degree in political science this spring, earned her third straight CSC Academic All-District honor, along with MVC Scholar-Athlete Team recognition and the MVC's Elite 18 Award for a second straight year, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing in the MVC Championships.
In addition to individual recognition, the UNI swimming and diving team as a whole was honored by the CSCAA as a Scholar All-America Team with a GPA of 3.60, one of seven Panther programs to boast a cumulative GPA of at least 3.60. Qualified teams for this honor must boast a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.00.
