CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI track and field team's active outdoor schedule is set to continue this week as the Panthers prepare for another doubleheader week of competition, slated to participate in both the Bryan Clay Invitational in California, as well as Indiana State's Gibson Invitational.
Competition is set to run Wednesday through Friday in Azusa, Calif. For the Bryan Clay Invitational, while the Gibson Invitational will get underway on Friday at noon CT and 11:30 a.m. CT on Saturday in Terre Haute.
Select athletes will make their way to the west coast, with Emma Hoins and Amelia Hill (unattached) set to run in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase on Wednesday, along with Caleb Shumaker in the men's 5,000-meter run. Hoins notably set the school record in the steeplechase last year in 10:19.19.
Chase Knoche and Drake Hanson are scheduled to run the 800 meters on Thursday, with Hanson holding the third-fastest time in team history from 2023 (1:48.19). Chase Lauman, along with Hanson, Knoche, Hill (unattached)Â and Hoins will round out the week all running in the 1,500 meters on Friday. Notably, Hoins cracked into UNI's top-five all-time list in the mile run last weekend with a time of 4:28.71.

In addition to 21 combined titles and 24 new career-best marks, several Northern Iowa athletes posted top-five marks in their respective events, including Justice Miller, who jumped to second all-time in the men's javelin throw (67.27), just under seven feet off the program record. Carson Lienau also jumped to fourth in the men's shot put with a winning throw of 18.66 meters at Drake.
