UNI swim & dive: Four named to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. --- Four members of the UNI swimming and diving team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team as announced by CSC on Tuesday.Â
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.Â
Panther swimmers Olivia Chambers, Faith Larsen and Hannah Nedder and diver Erica Peters were selected by the CSC as members of the 2024-25 Academic All-District Team. Additionally, Larsen was named a finalist for CSC Academic All-American honors.Â
Nomination criteria include holding a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or better, being a sophomore standing or higher both academically and athletically, and have competed in at least five meets or finish top-eight in an event at the conference championship meet.
Larsen, an Eden Prairie, Minnesota native and political science and public policy major, capped her collegiate swimming career by winning her third consecutive conference title in the 50-yard freestyle in school record time, while also capturing the 100-yard freestyle title. She also contributed to the Panthers' Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) record and conference championship winning 200-yard freestyle relay team. Larsen was also named to this year's MVC Scholar-Athlete Team and named the MVC Elite 18 Award winner, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing in the conference championship meet.
Chambers, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and 2024 Paralympic gold medalist, placed third in the 400-yard individual medley to earn her first all-conference team selection at the MVC Championships. She also swam in UNI's sixth-place finishing 800-yard freestyle relay, and placed tenth in the 1,650-yard freestyle and 14th in the 500-yard freestyle. An MVC Scholar-Athlete Team member, Chambers is currently majoring in psychology.
Hailing from Pella, Iowa, Nedder was part of the Panthers' sixth-place finishing team in the 200-yard medley relay at the MVC Championships during her junior season. She also placed seventh in the 400-yard medley relay and took 15th in the 100-yard butterfly. Earning MVC Scholar-Athlete Team recognition, Nedder is majoring in communication disorders.
Peters, a junior from Ankeny, Iowa earned sixth-place on the three-meter boards at the conference championship meet with a tenth-place performance in one-meter competition. She also represented UNI at the NCAA Diving Zones in three-meter action with a 48th place finish. An MVC Scholar-Athlete Team selection, MVC Diver of the Week in February and a winter recipient of the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award, Peters is majoring in math: statistics/actuarial science.
College Sports Communicators' Academic All-America Team selections will be voted on and announced in late-April.
