UNI cross country: 13 career-best times ran at Bradley Pink Classic

PEORIA, Ill. --- The UNI cross country team on Friday ran the final meet of its 2025 regular season, competing at the Bradley Pink Classic at the Newman Golf Course in central Illinois.
Competing in a crowded field with athletes representing over 100 different teams and clubs, Panther runners recorded 13 career-best times across three different races. The Northern Iowa women captured second place out of 21 teams in the six-kilometer white race and tenth in the 6K red race, while the Panther men took 17th in the red eight-kilometer competition.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Opening the afternoon in the women's white 6K race, Sarah Feddersen clocked a career-best time of 22:31 to finish in 11th place, with Clare Wright following immediately in 12th (22:38). Brooke O'Brien finished in 15th place (22:40), with Kendra Nissen posting a career-best mark of 22:44 in 17th, Evie Henneberry taking 19th with a career-best time (22:44) and Josee Simonson posting a 20th place finish in a career-best time of 22:45. Liza Schaffer rounded out the Panther field in the race in 37th (23:07).
Micah Rees topped the Panther field in the men's red 8K race with a career-best time of 24:46 with Colin Lillie following in 44th (24:58) with another new career-best mark. Ty Getz's time of 25:25 was enough for a new career-best finishing in 72nd place, with Josh Gormley clocking a 25:56 for 121st place and a career-best time. Drew Dombrosky (26:12) followed in 141st, along with Jonas VanDis with a career-best mark (26:19), as well as Caleb Kass (26:30) and Ethan Olds (26:56).
Closing out the afternoon in the women's red 6K race, Lindsey Sonderman led a select group of Panthers with a career-best time of 21:11, the ninth-fastest time in program history, with Leah Klapatauskas taking 47th with a career-best mark of 21:37. Meghan Wheatley finished in a career-best time of 21:40 in 53rd, followed by Melody Ochana (21:54) in 70th and Kaylee Woolery with a career-best time of 22:27.

UNI returns to action on Friday, Oct. 31 at the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships in Evansville, Indiana. Competition is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. CT.
