UNI swim & dive earns CSCAA Scholar All-America recognition for Fall 2023

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI women's swimming and diving team has been honored as one of College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams for the fall 2023 semester, as announced on Monday afternoon.
The Panthers posted a 3.59 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) during the previous semester, the seventh-highest semester cumulative GPA among all UNI athletic programs. UNI's academic success also helped the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) be named one of 18 Scholar All-America Conferences for women's swimming and diving.
"We are once again thrilled to be among the many swimming and diving programs across the country recognized for its academic success," said UNI head swimming coach Nick Lakin. "As we continue our training and push towards championship season, it is a testament to our team that they remain focused on excelling in both the pool and the classroom."
"The dedication to academic excellence displayed by these teams is truly commendable," said Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA. "It is heartening to witness student-athletes thriving both in the pool and in their academic pursuits. The CSCAA is proud to recognize and celebrate the hard work and commitment of these teams."
The Panthers return to action at the MVC Championships to be held Feb. 21-24 at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Indiana.
