Panthers divers head to Omaha for UNO Diving Invite

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI's diving squad will head to Omaha this weekend to compete in the UNO Diving Invite, being held at the H&K Pool. This will be the lone meet that the divers will attend this season and the Panthers' final competition ahead of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships in Evansville, Indiana later this month.
Action is slated to begin Friday night at 6:30 p.m. CT, continuing on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. CT. Live coverage of the meet can be found on Dive Meets.
In the most recent meet for the divers, at the Coyote Invite last weekend, senior Erica Peters swept both events, taking first in the three-meter (242.40) and one-meter (258.10). Avery Hogan took second in the three-meter (240.40) and third in the one-meter (245.20). Trista Thompson placed eighth in the three-meter (212.90) and second in the one-meter (250.70).
Last month, in a dual meet against the Illinois State Redbirds, Hogan and Peters took first and second in the three-meter boards, posting scores of 262.65 and 252.08 in the event. Over in the one-meter, the Panthers swept the podium with Peters taking first (258.23), Thompson coming in second (251.10), and Hogan in third (243.90).
Earlier this season at the Coyote Extravaganza, UNI divers dominated on the one-meter boards, going 1-2-3 in the event with Hogan taking top prize at 247.40, Peters in second (246.80), and Thompson in third (238.50). Three-meter saw Thompson succeeding in first (257.85) and Peters coming close behind in second (257.85), and Hogan making a statement in fourth (245.00) respectively.
