UNI women's golf: Hualde leads Panthers in fall finale at Braun Intercollegiate

EVANSVILLE, Ind. --- UNI women's golf closed out the fall portion of its 2023-24 schedule on a high note on Tuesday finishing as runner-up following a one-hole playoff at the Braun Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Evansville at the Oak Meadow Country Club.
The Panthers tied for first alongside fellow Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) opponent Indiana State with a final team score of 619 (+43). Indiana State would edge out UNI by two strokes in the deciding playoff hole for the team title. Alabama State's Teresa Diez Dorta earned the individual title after shooting 149 (+5) during the two-round tournament.
Victoria Hualde led the Panthers with a fourth-place finish and score of 151 (+7) following a 75 (+3) in Monday's opening round. Anna Jensen followed Hualde one spot behind on the leaderboard in a tie for fifth-place, shooting a 76 (+4) in both rounds to finish with a 152 (+8).
McKenna Mallow tied for 15th place alongside teammate Addison Berg, who both carded a total score of 158 (+14). Mallow tied her season-best score of 76 (+4) in her first round of play.
Anna Nacos finished the tournament tied for 21st after shooting a 79 (+7) in the opening round for a total score of 160 (+16). Allison Nuss rounded out the Panthers in a tie for 28th place overall, shooting 162 (+18).
