UNI women’s golf looking to compete in the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI women's golf is headed to its fourth tournament of the season at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational in Lawrence, Kansas. The Panthers are coming off a 13th-place finish at the Diane Thomason Invitational in Pleasant Valley, Iowa.
This year's Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational will take place on October 5-6 at Lawrence Country Club. Rounds one and two will take place on Monday, October 5, beginning at 8 a.m., with the final round taking place on Tuesday, October 6. Live results will be available online through Scoreboard. Lawrence Country Club is a par-71 course that plays 6,145 yards. UNI will begin play Monday morning with 36 holes before closing out the tournament with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
This year's field includes 14 teams, including California, Central Arkansas, Creighton, Delaware, Kansas A, Kansas B, Longwood, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico, Northern Iowa, Omaha, San Francisco, St. Thomas and UC Davis.
The Panthers are coming off a 13th-place finish at the Diane Thomason Invitational, where they finished with a team score of 967 (+115). Camille Wood led UNI individually, finishing tied for 42nd after shooting a 234 (+21). Wood also recorded six birdies over her three rounds.
Addison Berg and Greenlee Smock finished tied for 56th after both shooting a 242 (+29). Smock led the Panthers with seven birdies during the tournament, while Berg recorded 27 pars. Jane Petersen finished tied for 71st with a 249 (+36). Lauren Nuss competed individually and finished 77th with a score of 254 (+41), while Brinley Carlson rounded out the Panther lineup in 79th place with a 280 (+67).
