UNI swim and dive: Taylor Hogan earns CSCAA All-America Scholar honors

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - UNI diver Taylor Hogan earned CSCAA Individual Scholar All-America honors for her academic and athletic achievements.Â
The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) named 1,206 swimmers and divers to its Scholar All-American Team for the 2021-22 season. The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.Â
Hogan, a biology major, earned Second Team honors.Â
She earned UNI's MVC Championship title in 3-meter diving at the 2022 championships, scoring 277.50 points. She entered the finals as a No. 3 seed and moved to the lead with a 54.00 on a back 2 ½ pike.Â
It was the first MVC diving title since 2011. Hogan also secured a third-place finish on the 1-meter boards after she recorded 261.65 points.Â
Of 18 competitions last season, Hogan finished in the top three in 11 events and recorded a new personal best 1-meter dive against Valparaiso scoring 268.27. She qualified for NCAA Diving Zones for the 3-meter board, where she placed 42nd.Â
Hogan also plays softball for UNI and is the daughter of Pat and Kari Hogan.
