Two Panthers set records at the MVC Indoor Track and Field Championships

CHICAGO - UNI Track and Field 's Isaiah Trousil set a new MVC, facility and UNI program record to win the 200-meter dash at the Indoor Missouri Valley Championships.
Trousil posted a time of 20.72 seconds, breaking the record he set yesterday in the prelims. Trousil bested the MVC record of 21.15 set in 1990 by Drake's Kevin Little and the UNI record of 21.03 set by Brandon Carnes in 2017.
Trousil now sits 12th in the nation in the 200-meter dash, qualifying him for the NCAA Division I Championships.
Trousil also took second place in the 60-meter dash with a new personal best time of 6.69 seconds, tying Indiana State's JaVaughn Moore's first-place time of 6.69 seconds. He earned the Missouri Valley Conference's Outstanding Male Track Athlete for his performances.
Darius King earned Missouri Valley Conference Outstanding Field Athlete honors. King threw a new facility record of 19.56 meters to claim his third Missouri Valley Conference Champion title. He was third in the weight throw on the opening day of the meet.
Jack Sumners earned his first MVC title in the 60-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 8.06. Drew Bartels also earned all-conference with his second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with his new personal best time of 8.09 seconds set in the preliminary round.
Carter Morton took second place in the heptathlon with 5,229 points. Morton excelled in the heptathlon high jump, pole vault and 60-meter hurdles, finishing in the top three of each event. Morton set personal bests in the pole vault with a jump of 4.50 meters from his previous height of 4.31 meters and tied his best in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.38 seconds.
Parker Kiewiet took third in the 200-meter dash with a new personal best time of 21.41 seconds.
On the women's side, Sophia Jungling won the 800-meter run with a personal best time of 2:08.23. Jungling also aided in the second-place finish of the women's 4x400 meter relay team with a split of 55.63 seconds. Auriona Kimbrough, Emily Vos and Jill Bennett completed the 4x400 meter relay clocking a collective time of 3:46.76.
Paishence Johnson earned all-conference honors with her third-place finish in the 60-meter dash with her new personal best of 7.54 seconds.
The men's team finished third overall, and the women were fifth.

The 2022 DI indoor track and field selections will be announced 9 p.m. March 1 in a press release on NCAA.com.
The 2022 championship will take place March 11-12 at Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. The field will consist of 17 events on both the men's and women's side with a total of 650 participants.
