Storbeck and Van Wheelden tie for 14th at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course

RIVERSIDE, Iowa --- UNI men's golf took 6th place on Tuesday afternoon following the third and final round of the Iowa Fall Classic at the Blue Top Ridge Golf Course.

The Panthers shot a final team score of 921 with Thomas Storbeck and Connor Van Weelden both tying for 14th place individually. Iowa took the title with a score of 884, led by individual medalist Mac McClear, who carded a 214 (+2).

DAY TWO
Storbeck shot an 81 (+9) with a birdie on the back nine to wrap up the tournament to finish with a score of 229 (+13). Van Weelden also carded a third round birdie on the first hole.

Freshman Nile Petersen finished his first intercollegiate tournament tying for 28th after shooting an even 72 on Tuesday. Peterson worked his way up on the leader board after Monday's first two rounds by sinking 5 birdies on Tuesday, including 4 on the front nine finishing with a final score of 235 (+19).

Tying for 36th was Tommy Doyle, notching a total score of 239 (+23) after shooting 81 (+9), while Griffin Parker carded an 84 (+12) for a final score of 241 (+25).

DAY ONE
Storbeck sank four birdies on the front nine in Sunday's opening round to shoot an even 72 in the morning, before notching a 76 (+4) in the afternoon round. Van Weelden drained an eagle in the first round on the third hole to record a 72 (E) before sinking a putt for birdie on the fifth hole in round two.

Parker tied for 30th shooting a total of 157 (81-76) after Sunday's competition, while Doyle tied for 34th notching a total of 158 (75-83). Petersen, playing in his first intercollegiate tournament, tied for 43rd shooting 163 (78-85).

UP NEXT

The Panthers will conclude the fall portion of their schedule Oct. 24-25 as they head to Tulsa, Okla. for The Clerico, hosted by Oral Roberts University at the Oaks Country Club.
