THE PANTHERS:
-Â It was a big week in Illinois for the Panthers as they captured road wins against Illinois State and Bradley. UNI has now beat all Illinois-based Missouri Valley teams on the road this year and look to do the same at home in the month of February.
- UNI will have a long home stand to start off February. The Panthers will play four games over the course of seven days starting on Wednesday. UNI will get just a day off in between games against Loyola, Valparaiso and Evansville. The last time the Panthers had four games over seven days was the 2017-2018 postseason between the MVC Championship and the first WNIT tournament.
- While tallying her third double-double of the season, freshman forward/center Grace Boffeli made a career-high 14 points on Saturday afternoon against Bradley. Boffeli also tied her career high in field goals made at six.
- Head Coach Tanya Warren is closing in on her next milestone as a Missouri Valley coach. With one more conference win, Warren will move into a tie for third place with former Illinois State Head Coach Jill Hutchinson for most conference wins among Valley coaches.
THE SYCAMORES:Â
- Despite a slow start to the season during the non-conference schedule, Indiana State has thrived during Valley competition winning four out of six games played so far. The Sycamores only have losses to Missouri State and Illinois State, two of the other leaders in the conference.Â
- The Sycamores have gotten steady contributions from their bench throughout the season. Indiana State averages over 20 points a game from their bench with contributions from almost 10 players a game.
- Indiana State was back in action Saturday afternoon after a two-game pause due to COVID-19 protocols against Southern Illinois and Loyola. The Sycamores also postponed a game a week earlier against Evansville due to COVID-19 protocols within the program. In their first game back from a week break, Indiana State fell to the Missouri State Lady Bears 62-58.Â
- The Sycamores are led by junior forward Adrian Folks and junior guard Del'Janae Williams. The two players average 14.6 and 13.3 points a game respectively with Folks grabbing 5.8 boards a contest.
