CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI women's basketball team announced the signing of sophomore transfer Callie Levin on Friday afternoon. The 5-9 guard from Iowa comes to the Panthers after a two-year stint with the Hawkeyes.
"We are so excited to add Callie to our Panther family," said head coach Tanya Warren. "She is a perfect fit with the rest of our returning roster. Callie is a 3-level scorer who also has the ability to defend multiple positions. She is a natural leader, born competitor, and plays with a passion Panther fans are going to love."
Levin appeared in 29 games for the Iowa Hawkeyes, including 19 a season ago, where she averaged just over six minutes a game. The 5-9 guard scored 23 points on the season and brought down 11 rebounds, dishing out 10 assists in her limited minutes in Iowa City.
Before attending Iowa, Levin played at Solon High School, where she finished with 1,984 career points, complemented by strong all-around production in rebounds, assists, and steals, showcasing her impact on both ends of the court. As a senior, she averaged 22 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 4.8 steals per game.
She earned multiple top honors after her senior campaign, including Miss Iowa Basketball, USA TODAY Iowa Player of the Year, and several other statewide Player of the Year awards. She led Solon High School to the 3A State Championship, earned All-Tournament Team honors, and was named the tournament's top producer.
A record-breaker at Solon, she holds both the career and single-season three-point shooting records. Over her career, she consistently received elite recognition, including multiple first-team all-state selections, four consecutive conference Player of the Year awards, and repeated all-area and all-district honors.
Beyond high school, she competed at a high level in AAU basketball, winning a Nike National Championship, and was ranked among the top players in Iowa, including the No. 1 point guard in her class.
