Thompson, Kiewiet, Vos Lead Panthers at South Dakota Tune-Up

VERMILLION, S.D. – UNI track and field capped the regular season at the South Dakota Tune-Up in Vermillion, S.D. with 22 top-five finishes on the day, including event wins from sophomore Thai Thompson in the men's 400-meter hurdles, freshman Parker Kiewiet in the men's long jump and men's 200 meters, and junior Emily Vos in the women's 400 meters.
Thompson stopped the clock with a personal best of 52.82 to finish first in the men's 400-meter hurdles and Vos clocked a personal best time of 56.50 in the women's 400 meters to garner gold. Kiewiet notched first-place finishes in the men's 200 meters with a personal best time of 21.40 and men's long jump with an outdoor personal best leap of 7.24m.
Junior Paige Holub led the Panthers in the women's 1500 meters, finishing second with a time of 4:38.65. In the women's 5000 meters, junior Maddie Block clocked a time of 18:16.86 to earn bronze. Senior Emily Paul posted third and fourth place finishes in the women's 200 meters (24.69, PR), and women's 100 meters (12.06).
In the men's 400 meters, senior Sven Van Den Bergh clocked a time of 48.40 to place third. Freshman Drake Hanson and graduate-student Wal Khat took third (1:51.23, PR) and fourth (1:52.02) in the men's 800 meters, respectively. In the men's 200 meters, senior Isaiah Trousil took third with a time of 21.58. Freshman Jabari Fox followed close behind Trousil, clocking a personal best of 21.63 to place fourth. Senior William Blaser took third in the men's shot put with a mark of 17.44m. Sophomore Cameron Jones finished third in the men's hammer throw (60.93m, PR), fourth in the men's discus (51.24m), and sixth in the men's shot put (16.73m, PR).
