
Panthers Wrap Competition at NCAA West Prelims with Women’s 4x100m Relay

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. – The UNI 4x100-meter relay team closed out competition for the Panthers at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in College Station, Tex. on Saturday.
Junior Rylan Santi, freshman Libby Wedewer, graduate student Taylor Raines, and freshman Paishence Johnson stopped the clock at 45.53 to finish 19th overall. At the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships, Santi, Wedewer, Raines, and Johnson clocked a time of 45.31 to shatter the previous UNI record of 45.42, which stood for 27 years.
Wednesday's action saw graduate student Darius King punch his ticket to the NCAA Championships after posting a toss of 20.08m in the men's shot put, placing fourth overall. On Thursday, Raines clocked a time of 11.70 in the women's 100 meters, falling just short of her personal best of 11.67. Graduate student Thomas Yezek and sophomore Cameron Jones closed out competition in the men's discus, posting marks of 55.42m and 51.04m, respectively on Friday. Anna Hoyman completed the women's hammer throw on Friday with a toss of 56.78m.
