Panthers Win on Final Day of Easton T-Town Showdown

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – UNI softball finished 1-0 on the final of the Easton T-Town Showdown, beating Kent State 5-4.

On offense six Panther batters recorded one hit. Including, Taylor Hogan, Sammey Bunch, Hannah Kelley, Kamryn Shaffer, Brooke Snider, and Madison Parks. Senior Sammey Bunch led the Panthers going 2-for-4 with two home runs, two runs, and three RBI's. Sophomore Kamryn Shaffer went 1-1 with one hit and one run. Freshman Madison Parks went 1-2 with one hit, two runs, and two RBI's.

Sophomore Kailyn Packard (5-2) continued her outstanding performance in the circle. Packard threw six innings with nine strikeouts and only one walk. The Sophomore ace gave up six hits and only two earned runs. Junior Erica Oler would finish the last half inning of the game. The Panthers had a total of seven hits, five runs, and five RBI's, and only one error in UNI's fifth and final game of the Easton T-Town Showdown Sunday morning.

Following the final game vs Kent State, Senior Sammey Bunch and Sophomore Kailyn Packard were named to the Easton Tournament All-Tournament Team.

The Panthers are back in action Mar.12 th for day one of the Kansas Tournament at 1:00P.M. & 4:00 P.M. CT. The first game will be played against South Dakota State and the second game is against Kansas.
