UNI Softball Wins Two Against Indiana State

Terre Haute, Indiana - UNI Softball finished 2-0 on Mar. 27th against Indiana State. The Panthers won the first game by a score of 6-4 and the second game 3-2 in 9 innings.
Game 1 - UNI vs. Indiana State | W, 6-4
At the plate the Panthers were led by Freshman Emmy Wells and Brooke Snider. Both went 2-for-3 during the span of seven innings. Wells had two base hits, two RBI's and walked once. Snider also had two base hits, two RBI's and scored one run.
Junior Erica Oler went the whole seven innings throwing a complete game. In those seven innings Oler gave up four runs, all earned, eight hits, striking out one and walking one. The Panther defense helped out in a huge way not giving up a single error the entire game.
UNI found themselves down early when the Sycamores scored a run in the bottom of the first. UNI would answer in the top of the 4th inning scoring four of their own and never looking back. The Panthers would go on to win the game 6-4 on seven hits and no errors.
Game 2 - UNI vs Indiana State | W, 3-2
The Panthers didn't get on the scoreboard until the 7th inning tying the score at 1-1. The Sycamores couldn't manage to push any runs across in the bottom of the inning as the game went to extra innings. In the Top of the 8th inning UNI pushed one run across when Sammey Bunch scored on a wild pitch. Indiana State continued to fight as they matched the Panthers scoring one of their own. Brooke Snider led off the top of the 9th Inning hitting a solo home run to put the Panthers back on top 3-2. UNI didn't score any more runs the rest of the half inning. The Sycamores went down in order in the bottom of the 9th giving the Panthers the come from behind win and the 12th win of the season.
Offensively, Brooke Snider led the way for the Panthers again. Snider went 2-for-4 with one home run, one base hit, one RBI, and scored one run. Sammy Moss also provided a spark for the Panthers going 2-for-4 as well. Moss had two base hits and drove in one RBI.
Sophomore Kailyn Packard (8-4) picked up her eighth win of the year. The Sophomore went all 9 innings giving up two runs, one earned, ten hits, walking two and striking out ten.
