
UNI Tack and Field Hosts Jack Jennett Invite

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Track and field welcomes three teams to the UNI-Dome for the Jack Jennett Open Thursday and Friday. Illinois State, Bradley and Dubuque join UNI for the quadrangular meet.
The meet opens Thursday for multi-events before the full meet begins Friday. Thursday's events begin at 1 p.m. Friday, events begin with the completion of the heptathlon at 10 a.m. followed by the field events beginning at 11 a.m. track events begin at 1 p.m.
TOP 15 PANTHERS
It remains early in the season, but returning All-American Darius King is ranked fifth in the NCAA in the shot put. His throw of 19.13-meters is fifth and less than an inch out of the fourth-place spot. Isaiah Trousil is tied for the No. 15 spot in the NCAA for the 200-meter dash. He is tied with Texas A&M's Jake Lanier with a time of 21.39. Twenty-Two Panthers are currently ranked in the top 75 of the NCAA
LEADING THE VALLEY
UNI is one of only two Valley teams to have competed in a meet to date, the other being Drake. As a result, UNI claims the top spot in 23 different events combined between the men and the women.
JUNIOR COLLEGE MEET
Along with Friday's multi-event schedule, there will be a track event only junior college open with events beginning at 2 p.m.
FAN ATTENDANCE
Fans are allowed to attend the event. Fans must enter the SW UNI-Dome entrance. Attendance will be capped at 15% of UNI-Dome seating capacity. Masks must be worn at all times and fans should sit at least eight feet from other groups. Nobody is allowed on the UNI-Dome floor except competing athletes and coaches.
