Fourteen Panthers Named to Track and Field Scholar-Athlete Team

ST. LOUIS – UNI track and field placed six women and eight men on the Missouri Valley Conference Track and Field Scholar-Athlete team released today by the league.
To be honored on the list, an athlete must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and placed in the top eight of an individual event or top three in a relay event at the indoor championship.
For this year only, any student-athlete who was scheduled to participate in the outdoor meet this spring (regardless of whether they participated in the indoor event this past February) who also meets the academic criteria and has met the athletic criteria in any previous MVC championship during their career.
Senior C.J. May had the highest GPA of any Panther Student-Athlete honored. The senior carries a 3.93 GPA in Computer Science. He finished seventh in the mile run at the indoor championship.
Carter VonEssen has a 3.88 GPA was awarded the Scholar-Athlete honor by virtue of his third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles during last year's outdoor season.
Isabelle Holtzen has a 3.79 GPA, the highest among UNI women. The Business Analytics and finance double major finished third in the pole vole at the Indoor Championship.
