Cedar Falls, Iowa – The Panthers fall to 0-2 on the season, falling to South Dakota and Murray State on the opening day of the 2020 Doc Halverson UNI-Dome Classic.

UNI vs South Dakota | L, 5-3
The Panthers fell 5-3 to the South Dakota Coyotes in the season-opener Friday in game one of the Doc Halverson UNI-Dome Classic. Senior Jaclyn Spencer (0-1) got the ball to start for UNI (0-1) and took the loss. The southpaw went six innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on six hits, allowing one walk and striking out three.

In the batter's box, the Panthers were paced by senior Sammy Bunch, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a triple. Junior Emma Valainis put together a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 1-for-4 with an RBI.
