Panthers Close Out Black and Gold

IOWA CITY, Iowa – UNI swept the top five spots in the shot put and UNI earned three top-three finishes at the Black and Gold Premier in Iowa City.
Darius King continued his strong season to date with a first-place finish in the shot. His throw of 18.37-meters surpassed teammate and runner-up Keegan Tritle who threw 17.9-meters. Tom Yezek was third, Kyler Yodts was fourt and William Blaser finished fifth.
Yodts finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 18.70. King was third with a toss of 18.32.
On the women's side, Alanna Nietert topped her career-best throw of 19.10-meters. She is now third in the MVC standings and 58th in the NCAA.
Isiaah Trousil finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.35 and now sits first in the MVC and 59th in the NCAA.
C.J. May recorded a career-best mile time of 4:12.34 to finish third overall. He is second in the MVC to date.
The Panthers relay teams had a productive day. The Panther women's relay team finished fourth with a time of 3:53.16, they now have the third-best team in the MVC to date.
The UNI men finished second with a time of 3:13.94. The Panthers are tops in the MVC wit time todate.

The Panthers have a split weekend next week, with part of the group heading to Nebraska and part heading to Notre Dame.
