UNI Ranked 5th in MVC Coaches Poll

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The UNI women's soccer team is predicted to finish fifth in the MVC Coaches Poll as announced by the conference office on Thursday, August 15. The Panthers totaled 33 total points.
While UNI returns 19 letter winners from last season, with four starters returning. Sydney Hayden is the only returning all-conference honoree from 2018. The Panthers are coming off a 9-7-3 season, finishing 4-3-0 in MVC play and qualified for the MVC Tournament.Â
Loyola is predicted to finish first with 62 points and six first place votes, the Ramblers only had one MVC loss last season. Drake is predicted to finish second, receiving 55 votes and one first place vote. With 49 votes and one first place vote, Illinois State is predicted to place third in the conference. Missouri State received 37 votes and is predicted to place fourth.
Behind UNI is Evansville with 23 votes, Valparaiso is predicted to finish seventh with 15 votes, and trailing closely, Indiana State is predicted to place eighth with 14 votes.
