
Panther Track and Filed Closes Regular Season at Wisconsin

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Track and field closes out the regular season at the Wisconsin Alumni Classic in Madison Friday.
UNI enters the weekend with 47athletes in the top-eight in Missouri Valley Conference standings. The UNI men are currently ranked 16th in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Rankings and are No. 3 in the country in the USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings for shot put.
The Panthers enter the week with conference leaders in four events. Austin Heitland put up the best performance in the decathlon in the MVC this season to date with the score of 6,644 at the Drake Relays. Evan Long has the top time in the 400-meter dash and leads a group of Panther 400 runners that have five of the top seven spots in the conference this season. Connor Ham is tops in the 110-meter hurdles and Isaac Holtz has the best throw in the discus.
On the women's side, Brooke Lorenz currently sits second in the heptathlon and Lyndsie Schinkel is currently ranked second in the 800-meter dash.
Friday's events begin at 12:30 with the hammer throw. The running events begin at 4 p.m. with the 100-meter hurdles.
