Panthers Close Drake Relays with Strong Saturday

DES MOINES – Patrice Watson finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.43 and five relay teams earned top-eight finishes to close out the final day of the Drake Relays on the blue oval in Des Moines.
The Panther women finished third in the unseeded 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:55.02, fifth in the 4x100-meter shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 60.04 and fourth in the 1,600-sprint medley relay with a time of 3:59.96.
The UNI men finished fourth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:13.30. The Panthers also took home a fourth-place finish in the 4x200 with a time of 1:27.02.
Overall, the Panther women finished ninth in the University team rankings while the UNI men finished 11th.
The Panthers have one more meet on the slate before the Missouri Valley Track and Field Championship. UNI travels to the Wisconsin Twilight in Madison on Friday, May 3.
