CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI softball dropped the finale of the series against Drake, 1-0, on Tuesday evening.
Northern Iowa vs. Drake | Final Score – L, 1-0
Jaclyn Spencer was phenomenal in her start against the Bulldogs, as she allowed only one unearned run in seven innings. Spencer struck out seven batters and allowed only one hit and walked three. It was the sixth complete game of the year for Spencer.
The offense failed to find any success against Nicole Newman, as only one batter reached, which was Courtney Krodinger on a walk. The Panthers struck out 13 times against Drake and were no hit for the first time this year.
For the fifth time this season, the Panthers were held scoreless in a game.
UP NEXT –
The Panthers finish off their home conference slate in a series with the Southern Illinois Salukis on April 27-28. Two games will be played on Saturday, April 27 beginning at noon. The series finale will be on Sunday, April 28 at 11:00 a.m.
Four UNI seniors will be honored as part of senior day this weekend. Brittney Krodinger, Courtney Krodinger, Brooke Craig and Claire Dudek are the four seniors making up UNI's senior class in 2019.
