Panther Track and Field Competes in Iowa City

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI track and field is back in action Saturday in Iowa City at the MUSCO Twilight meet hosted by the University of Iowa at Francis X. Cretzmeyer Track.
The Panthers come into the meet after sweeping Missouri Valley Conference men's athletes of the week. Evan Long won men's track athlete of the week honors after winning the 400-meter dash and leading the 4x400 team to a second-place finish at the Nebraska Spring Invite. Isaac Holtz was named the men's field athlete of the week after a third-place finish in the discus with the best mark in the MVC to date.
UNI has four of the top five marks for the 400-meter dash in the MVC. Connor Ham leads the MVC in the 110 hurdles and joins Holtz and Long as Panthers with top marks.
On the women's side, Maddie McCalla is currently second in the 200, Lyndsie Schinkel is second in the 800, McKayla Cole is second in the 5,000-meter run and Hope Koerperich is ranked third in the javelin.
The meet begins at 12 p.m. with field events while the running events begin at 2 p.m. The last event of the day is scheduled for 7 p.m.
