SPRINGFIELD, Missouri - UNI softball loses the last game of the series by a score of 2-3.
Northern Iowa vs. Missouri State | Final Score - L, 2-3
Brooke Craig was the starting pitcher for the Panthers. Craig pitched four innings and allowed six hits, two walks, and zero runs.
Erica Oler and Emma Olejniczak also pitched for the Panthers. Oler pitched one inning and allowed one hit, one walk, and two runs.
Olejniczak pitched the last one and one-third innings. Olejniczak allowed zero walks, three hits, and one run.
The game was scoreless through three innings. The Panthers scored the first runs of the game in the top of the fourth inning. It started with Sammey Bunch getting hit by a pitch. Adara Opiola followed that with a single to left field.
Courtney Krodinger hit an RBI single to center field that scored Bunch. Ashley Chesser then hit an RBI sacrifice fly to center field to score Opiola.
The Panthers would not score for the rest of the game. The Missouri State Bears scored a run in each of the last three innings on four hits. Missouri State scored the game winning run on a wild pitch by Emma Olejniczak.
