
UNI Softball Drops Series Finale to Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Indiana – UNI softball dropped the series finale on Sunday, 2-1, to the Indiana State Sycamores.
Northern Iowa vs. Indiana State | Final Score – L, 2-1
Emma Olejniczak lasted three and two-thirds innings while striking out one batter and allowing four base hits. Olejniczak did not walk a batter and only allowed one run to score.
Erica Oler pitched three and two-thirds of one-hit ball while striking out two batters and walking two. Oler gave up one run on the day.
Brooke Craig came into the game in the bottom of the eighth and allowed two hits while walking a batter, allowing the winning Indiana State run to score.
After being held scoreless for the first three innings of the game, the Panthers were able to put a run on the board on an Adara Opiola solo home run to right field.
Jenny Kohl reached base on a hit in the top of the seventh but was unable to come around to score.
Olivia Brooks had a base hit out of the leadoff spot, and Hannah Kelley and Emma Valainis both reached on a walk against the Sycamores.
UP NEXT –
The Panthers travel to Springfield, Missouri to take on the Missouri State Bears next weekend. The Bears play a Saturday doubleheader on March 23, beginning at 12:00 p.m. CT. On Sunday, March 24, UNI and Missouri State play at 11:00 a.m. CT.
