UNI Cross Country Runs at MVC Championship

Time: Men 10:30 a.m. | Women 11:30 a.m. CT

Cedar Falls, Iowa – UNI cross country travels to Valparaiso, Indiana to compete in the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships. The men race an 8,000-meter course at 10:30 a.m. The women follow with a 5,000-meter race at 11:30 a.m.

Senior Wal Khat is set to lead the men in his last MVC Cross Country Championship. He has the sixth-fastest time in the MVC this season. Fellow teammate CJ May is currently sitting thirteenth in the conference with a personal record set in the Panthers race two weeks ago in Peoria. Sophomore Drake Henrichs, Junior Logan Murray and Freshman David Holesinger will also race for the Panthers. Â

McKayla Cole leads the Panther women in Valparaiso in the 5K race. UNI raced in its last 5K over a month ago but has been running 6,000-meter distances in preparation for Saturday. Freshman Cassidy Inhs looks to continue her strong opening season, she has a season-best 5K time of 18:19.9 and sits in the top thirty in the MVC. Also running for the Panthers are Paige Holub, Maddie Block, and Haylee Luna.
